Instant karma videos are so satisfying!
We seem to love them — you know the video where the rude aggressive person, or the thief, the bully, the wrongdoer, receives instant “karma” or payback for their wrongdoing, by getting caught or something bad happening to them.
We laugh and are satisfied because the rude wrongdoer gets some kind of instant ‘justice’.
But unfortunately, karma doesn’t always pay people back. The universe doesn’t always seem to bring balance or justice.
Indeed, too often justice never seems to come and the world can feel fundamentally unjust and our deep longing for justice can go unsatisfied.
This is why the promises of the Christian faith are good news.
For the Bible offers a promise, through Jesus, of true and ultimate justice.
The evil, the wrongdoer, the bully, will get justice through Jesus. One day, there will be justice in the world.
