There’s a spiritual revival at Awakening Australia 2024.
This powerful three-day event at the RNA Showgrounds is all about encountering Jesus through worship, outreach opportunities and powerful teachings.
Tim Bain caught up with Daniel Hagen to hear more about Awakening Australia.
“Awakening Australia is a large ecumenical evangelistic gathering” Daniel said.
“Ecumenical meaning all different church denominations coming together… it’s amazing”.
“We’re saying to people, let’s put aside our secondary doctrinal differences and let’s gather and unite around Jesus and around the gospel” Daniel Hagen, Awakening Australia
The line-up includes international speakers like John Bevere and Todd White as well as local pastors and leaders Mark Ramsey from Citipointe Church and Mark Varughese of Kingdomcity.
Paris Silver Medalist Nicola Olyslagers (nee McDermott) is also a part of the line-up and Daniel shared about a powerful experience she had at the 2018 Awakening Australia that helped to bring success as a higher jumper.
“In 2018, she was a regional jumper. She was pretty good but not at Olympic standards” Daniel said.
“She had an experience during the worship where she had a vison of a technique change in her high jumping abilities and God really stirred faith in her heart to believe big and go for the Olympics”
“She started to put that technique change into practice with her coach and all of a sudden her heights started to go through the roof”.
“In November 2018 we hired the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, and we had over 30,000 people come through over the three days. So many people experienced Jesus and gave their life to Jesus.”
Daniel is hoping to see just as many people impacted through this year’s event.
