Aussie vocalist extraordinaire Tarryn Stokes has stepped into the limelight after being announced as the winner of Channel 7’s The Voice 2023 on Sunday night.
Tarryn is an incredible vocal talent with a long history in the music industry, having her own original music as well as singing and recording with the likes of Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy among many others.
Entering the The Voice and being part of Team Rita was her bid to step out as a solo artist, and winning the competition sets her on a path to greater exposure, recording and touring opportunities.
“I’m just so grateful,” she said in her acceptance speech. “Going from the Blinds [Auditions] to somehow being in the grand finale, I’m now believing that I can do this… I feel like The Voice has actually changed my life.”
In September, in the leadup to The Voice finals, Tarryn recorded a message for the Christian Media and Arts Australia conference, sharing about what the TV show has meant for her musical career.
“It’s been a great journey,” she said. “I’ve loved it and it’s been a real journey of confidence.”
Tarryn also teaches, sings Christian worship, writes her own songs and loves to encourage others in their singing journey.
“I love to sing,” she said. “I love to put my voice onto different songs and cover songs, and my own originals. I love teaching singing as well. I love to inspire other people and encourage other people in their singing journey, whether it be on a worship team at church or following or pursuing their own artistry. I love to help with technique and also with encouragement and mindset.”
Tarryn has previously been a guest on GOOD channel’s program Be That, in an episode about perseverance.
Tarryn Stokes is one of the many artists and creators in the ‘MADE’ network: an initiative of CMAA bringing together creatives in the Christian community, to foster unity, excellence and innovation.
