Thousands of kids play sport every weekend. But why?
Is it to win? To become pros?
No! They’re the wrong reasons that’ll make you a toxic parent on the sideline.
So why make our kids play sport?
It’s because we believe that sports is good.
Whether you win or lose. Whether you’re hopeless or not. Sports is good.
But how can sports simply be good?
Because we worship a good God who gives us good gifts to enjoy.
If life was only about survival of the fittest, then sports should also only be about winning.
But life isn’t only about winning. Life is about worship.
And we worship—not sport—but the good God who gives us good gifts to enjoy.
And one of those gifts is sport.
So enjoy your sports this weekend. And worship the God who gives us good gifts to enjoy.
But please whatever you do, don’t ever go for Collingwood.
